The 2nd Plumdill Variant is officially done. I spent a lot of time messing with the skin of the “zombies”, but I just had to stop at a certain point. It looks really nice printed up!

The Strain #1(1 for $1 reprint edition) “The Strain Time” Plumdill Variant

signed & numbered giclee print run of 13, stapled to the actual comic

Bad Zoo issue zero b/w 8 page zine
I had fun selling this at the very first OC Zine Fest in Santa Ana, CA yesterday. It was a great event, and I met a lot of nice people! I really enjoy events like that where you can relax, and have a beer while you peddle your personal xeroxed porn. :-)

I printed up my first homemade variant, today. It came out really nice!
It’s printed on nice heavy stock glossy paper, and I had each one professionally stapled to a copy of Harley Quinn #0 2nd print.
I’m making 21 of them. Each signed & numbered with a little head sketch on the inside of the back cover.
I just mailed out the first 2, which went to folks who pre-ordered on ebay. More will be available soon.

A new “home-made” variant for Harley Quinn #0(2nd printing)
I had to add that black border to make the image fit a comic book front cover. The B+W image on the left is the back cover.
You know, if you’ve read any of Harley Quinn’s latest exploits, you know she’s kind of a sick puppy.(i.e.- blowing up a bunch of random people with explosive-rigged iphones/ipads…*see Harley Quinn Villians Month Special #1..) so, hooking up with Groot, and Rocket Raccoon didn’t seem like much of a stretch. I was also thinking of that scene in The Last American Virgin.

I’m writing about artists in the comics realm for Illustration Friday.

That first scary picture is my profile picture on the site.

The other is an awesome glow in the dark poster drawn by Jim Rugg.

The King getting serious!

The King getting serious!

I was trying out a new brush for inking, and it ended up being a disaster. I don’t know…maybe, I need a finer brush, or maybe I’m just too clumsy with my brush strokes, but the hair here was a total disaster! Disaster’s the word of the day, obviously…but, I just gave up using my new brush, and went back to my usual pens, etc. Enjoy!
